Interview Process for Ivory University House Applicants

The purpose of these interviews is to get to know the future residents and help them understand the mission of Ivory University House, answer any questions they have, and review the Core Value Agreement.

These interviews are kept to about 15 minutes in length and held via Zoom.

  1. We’ll begin by asking questions to get to know the person better. Learn about their hobbies, what they are studying, what they’re looking for in housing, etc. We’ll then confirm the following data points:

a.     Hometown

b.     High School attended

c.      University currently attending

d.     Year in school

e.     UNID

f.      Ivory Scholarship recipient

g.     Community service/engagement

h.     Engineering student

2.  Ask how they learned about Ivory University House and why they chose to apply.

3.  Explain the details of the Ivory University House and its philanthropic mission.

4.  Introduce our Core Value Agreement (“At IUH, the Core Value Agreement is something that is very important to us. It’s our way of creating the desired culture and environment for all residents.”). Read through Core Value Agreement (found here).

5.  If they determine IUH is a good fit for them, explain that a lease will be sent out shortly and once they sign it and have paid the security deposit, their spot will be secured.

6.  Ask if there are any questions for our team.
